Artworks - Projects > Iera Odos Revisited

These works are the result of a six-month ‘peripatetic residency’ on Iera Odos or the Sacred Way. A road which was the site of a ritual procession from Athens to Eleusis in Antiquity and is now a main industrial artery of the city. Drawing on the rivers of Athens, as well as the Mississippi River and Highway 61 in the United States, the project invents an alternative mythology of the road as a way to observe what is actually there.
